נושא ההודעה: Unable to boot from new kernel
Hello world,
I wanted to add some drivers to support my webcam so I tried to compile a kernel which include some USB and video driver.
I've downloaded the src to /usr/src and set the configuration and recompile a private kernel.
Then I copy the new vmlinuz to /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.7
and System.map to /boot/System.map-2.6.7
and .config to /boot/config-2.6.7

Then I added new boot option to lilo
# Linux bootable partition config begins
image = /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.7
root = /dev/hda2
label = Linux-2.6.7
read-only
# Linux bootable partition config ends

However the machine failed to boot from the new 2.6.7.
Each time it froze right after some cPU check.

I'm running on a PII 350 and I specifically set this option in the kernel configuration before the compilation.

I tried twice with the same results.
Then I tried it with 2.4.26 and again the machine froze in the same place.

Please help
