שידרגתי את האובונטו שלי מ12.04 ל14.04.
shotwell לא עולה, גם אחרי התקנה מחדש שלו.
המחשב נותן לי הודעת שגיאה.

אותה "תוכנה" היא למעשה קובץ C, שבהפצות אחרות, ייתכן ויש מקום להשתמש עם
yum install libusb-devel).

ההבדל ביניכם הוא שהשואל שדרג מ-12.04, ואצלך ההתקנה היא נקיה.
השואל ניסה גם להתקין דרך הסינפטיק (=מאגרים רשמיים), ולא הלך.
המאגר שממנו הצעתי להתקין, הוא אמין.
אבל אם כבר נכנסת לדיון:
האם היית צריך לבצע פעולה כלשהי על מנת להתקין את shotwell, או שיש כבר אייקון שמגיע עם ה- 14.04?

לשואל המקורי:
הפלט של הפקודה האחרונה שהעלית (שהיא הכי חשובה), היה חסר.
תשים לב שאתה מעלה לכאן את כל השורות שקיבלת, כולל סימן הטרמינל שמתקבל בסוף.
תעלה פלט אחרי הרצת כל פקודה בנפרד, וכך ניתן יהיה לבדוק את מקור הבעיה.

דווקא עשיתי שידרוג וזה היה מותקן לפני כן.
ותרגיע עם הספאם.
