על פי הודעה ב-seclists הפורומים של אובנטו נפרצו ו־1.82 מליון חשבונות נפגעו. הודעה באתר מציינת כי, Ubuntu One, Launchpad ושירותים אחרים של אובונטו/קנוניקל לא נפגעו.

על פניו נראה כי זה הזמן להחליף סיסמאות גם בשירותים שלא נפגעו ליתר בטחון, במידה ויש קישור לשירותים שכן נפגעו או השתמשתם בסיסמה זהה עבורם.
